What is CENA? What does it have to do Westside Ministries? How is CENA impacting Honduras and the world? Read the story here!
Impact the Local Church
Beginning in 1992, Roger and Linda made trips to other countries around the world. Then in 1993, Roger made his first trip to Honduras and his first project was digging a well at Orphanage Emanuel in Guaimaca.
Each year following 1993 there were many trips made to Honduras. Westside Ministries brought several teams from the States to dig wells, help with construction projects, and do medical/ dental brigades. They also gave eye glasses, clothing and shoes to the people of Honduras.
Then, in 2000, Roger had a vision from the Lord which let him know His purpose for Honduras was to build a training center for pastors and leaders of Honduras and beyond.
Property was purchased and construction began. After completing the training center and a team house, pastoral trainings began and pastors came from the States to conduct conferences.
Mike Hobbs, a pastor of New Covenant Church in Tifton, GA, and a Bishop of the University of Christian Life School of Theology, was instrumental in helping Westside Ministries obtain the curriculum from CLST. This is the curriculum used to train the pastors.
CLST Global is an accredited school which allows those who attend classes at CENA to achieve a Bachelor’s of Theology. These studies have transformed the lives of countless pastors and church leaders who have taken the courses. They return to their respective cities and villages with a firm spiritual foundation and a heart to disciple the lost in their communities.
A unique aspect of CENA is that each student has a scholarship which covers 90% of the costs for classes. This is an incredible opportunity they do not take for granted. Many students would be unable to attend without the scholarship.
